The Seven Hills Regional User Group for GIS (SHRUG) is “…an alliance of multi-discipline
GIS Professionals and users focused in the Tallahassee regional area… organized…
to promote and support the use of GIS…”. SHRUG would like to invite you and your
company to attend and participate in the 8th Annual SHRUG GIS Workshop. The 2008 Workshop attracted approximately 250 GIS professionals
from governmental agencies, educational institutions, and private companies. In
addition, participants were not only from the immediate Tallahassee area, but we
are growing to include representatives from other areas of Florida as well as Georgia
and Alabama. Still in our grassroots years, soon we will have enough participants
to call the SHRUG GIS Workshop a Southeast United States Region Workshop.

Plans are underway for the 8th Annual SHRUG GIS Workshop.
We are already working on improving all aspects of the 2010 SHRUG GIS Workshop:
number of attendees, number of exhibitors and sponsors, number of sessions/presentations,
a new improved system for the distribution of the attendee contact information for
the exhibitors/sponsors and new social events.
As GIS expands and the number of users and applications increase, it is presumed
that in the future everyone’s day-to-day life will include GIS. Therefore, we have
chosen the 2010 Workshop theme to be “Getting the Most Out of GIS”.

The workshop will take place at the new FSU Conference Center,
November 17th-18th.
|
To succeed in the workshop’s growth, we will be inviting a larger number of sponsors
and vendors to be part of the event.Opportunities available for 2009 are:
